Feature Release: Enhanced Application Catalogue

Application management with Devicie just got a big uplift. This release will bring you more applications, more control and full visibility of the applications in your environment.

 

 

This release has three big updates that will change how you manage applications with Devicie.

 

1. The catalogue now includes 1,500+ unique applications

The Devicie catalogue now covers over 1,500 unique applications and is continuing to grow. This is a 300% increase in coverage that will ensure your environment is kept even more secure with broader automated patching support and reduced manual workload.

That expanded coverage now includes macOS applications in the self-service catalogue, allowing you to browse, configure, and deploy supported macOS applications directly from the Devicie portal, just as you already can with Windows applications. 

Requesting a catalogue addition is also easier than it used to be. The bar for what qualifies an app for the catalogue has come down, so requests are far more likely to be accepted. Submit a catalogue request and we'll take it from there.

 

2. Configured for your specific environment

Choosing an app from the catalogue is only the start, it also needs to deploy the way your environment requires. Every catalogue application now supports all the architecture and installer variants the publisher provides, including ARM64 and user context - so you can choose the one that best suits the needs of your users and devices.

 

You can also set custom install arguments when you configure and deploy an app, to match specific requirements. Set it once, and it carries forward automatically every time Devicie updates the application with a new version.

Our enhanced catalogue now also supports updating applications in place, without making them available in Company Portal for users. This means you can keep up to date those unwanted applications that end users have installed on their devices; even if you're not ready to remove them yet.

 

3. Visibility of your whole estate

The Devicie portal now has a new Managed Apps page.

 

This page shows all applications that exist in your Intune tenant in one place. This includes deployed catalogue applications but also bespoke packaged applications or any that you have directly deployed in Intune without Devicie.

 

This means you can now see all managed applications clearly in one place and understand at a glance how they are managed and assigned.
