Device Onboarding – Setup Overview

This article outlines the essential steps for onboarding with Devicie.

1. Authorize the Devicie Enterprise App

To begin onboarding, authorize the Devicie Automation enterprise application using the consent link below.

2. Provide Foundation Template Variables

Once authorization is complete, you will be redirected to a form containing template variables. Fill out the form before proceeding to the next steps.

3. Create Dashboard Access Groups

Devicie leverages Microsoft Entra groups for role-based access management, allowing you full control over your environment. This approach supports seamless access management and Privileged Identity Management (PIM) integration.

Required Access Groups

Create the following access groups in your tenant:

4. Create Devicie Intune Admin User

Your assigned Solutions Engineer will configure your environment for Devicie rollout. To facilitate this, create a cloud-only, unlicensed Intune account using their email address.

Required Roles

Assign the following roles to the account:

• Intune Administrator

• Security Reader

• Office Apps Administrator

• Edge Administrator

5. Create a Test User in Entra ID

To validate configurations before full deployment, create a standard test user in Entra ID. This test user should mirror a normal user within your organization.

Testing Focus Areas

We will collaborate with you on thorough end-to-end testing to ensure readiness for organization-wide rollout, covering:

✅ Windows Autopilot deployment

✅ Zero-touch deployments for macOS, Android, and iOS

✅ Application deployment

✅ Policy configurations and restrictions
